Alabama High School Basketball - Calhoun nips Stanhope Elmore

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Calhoun Tigers basketball team scored a close 39-36 triumph over the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs.

The Tigers (8-13) will now prepare for their contest against Highland Home (Highland Home, AL). The Flying Squadron go into the 2A Area 5 contest with a 11-8 record. In their last contest, Highland Home nipped Blacksher (Uriah, AL), 51-15, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Bessemer City Tigers (Bessemer, AL) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Stanhope Elmore will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record.
