In Friday's league contest, the host Joshua Owls basketball team scored a good 55-46 triumph over the Cleburne Yellowjackets.

The Owls (18-14) will now prepare for their contest against Mansfield Summit (Arlington, TX). The Jaguars go into the 5A Region I District 8 contest with a 25-5 record. In their last contest, Mansfield Summit topped Centennial (Burleson, TX), 63-34, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the Burleson Elks (Burleson, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Cleburne will attempt to better on its 17-14 season record. The Elks go into the contest with a 8-21 record after their 60-32 league loss to Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX).
