In Friday's league contest, the visiting Ellison Eagles basketball team scored a good 39-31 triumph over the Lake Belton Broncos.

The Eagles (22-10) will now prepare for their contest against University (Waco, TX). The Trojans go into the 5A Region II District 16 contest with a 4-17 record. In their last contest, University was topped by Belton (Belton, TX), 53-47, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Broncos battle the Waco Lions (Waco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 16 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Lake Belton will attempt to better on its 13-18 season record. The Lions go into the contest with a 8-18 record after their 60-37 league loss to Chaparral (Killeen, TX).
