The Grants Pirates basketball squad (Grants, NM), was outscored 51-40 in Friday's league battle with the visiting St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM)
With the victory, St. Pius X advances its record to 12-6 on the year. The Sartans host Valencia (Los Lunas, NM) to meet the Jaguars in a 4A District 5 test on Tuesday, January 28. The Jaguars come into the test with a record of 13-5. Valencia won 54-37 in their recent league test against Grants (Grants, NM)
The Pirates (8-12) will now prepare for their test against Highland (Albuquerque, NM). The Hornets come into the 4A District 5 test with a 11-8 record. In their last test, Highland overcame Belen (Belen, NM), 48-23, in a league test.
