In Friday's league contest, the host San Juan Spartans basketball team scored a good 38-24 triumph over the Highlands Scots.

The Spartans (1-12) will now prepare for their contest against Mesa Verde (Citrus Heights, CA). The Mavericks go into the Sierra Delta League contest with a 12-9 record. In their last contest, Mesa Verde was topped by Woodland Christian (Woodland, CA), 76-24, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Scots confront the Golden Sierra Grizzlies (Garden Valley, CA) in a Sierra Delta League contest, on Monday, January 27. Highlands will attempt to better on its 0-15 season record. The Grizzlies go into the contest with a 7-9 record after their 48-42 league loss to Lindhurst (Olivehurst, CA).
