The John Battle Trojans basketball team (Bristol, VA), was topped 45-36 in Friday's league contest with the host Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA)
The Bears (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Abingdon (Abingdon, VA). The Falcons come into the Mountain contest with a 14-5 record. In their last contest, Abingdon defeated George Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 57-37, in a non-league contest.
Next up, the Trojans face the Virginia High Bearcats (Bristol, VA) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 27. John Battle will attempt to better on its 10-7 season record. The Bearcats go into the contest with a 5-10 record after their 45-41 non-league win over Grundy (Grundy, VA).
