The Marlin Bulldogs basketball squad (Marlin, TX), was nudged 31-30 in Friday's league battle with the host Riesel Indians (Riesel, TX)

With the victory, Riesel advances its record to 17-4 on the year. The Indians travel to Axtell (Axtell, TX) to meet the Longhorns in a 2A Region III District 17 battle on Friday, January 31. The Longhorns enter the battle with a record of 13-12.

The Bulldogs now own a 13-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Axtell for a 2A Region III District 17 battle on Tuesday, January 28. Marlin will meet a Longhorns squad coming off a 49-9 league win over Bruceville-Eddy (Eddy, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 13-12.
