Texas High School Basketball - The Colony holds off Newman Smith

In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting The Colony Cougars basketball team scored a close 59-53 triumph over the Newman Smith Trojans.
The Cougars (15-13) will now prepare for their contest against Highland Park (Dallas, TX). The Scots go into the non-league contest with a 19-11 record. In their last contest, Highland Park nipped Wakeland (Frisco, TX), 42-38, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Trojans confront the Reedy Lions (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Newman Smith will attempt to better on its 12-10 season record. The Lions go into the contest with a 19-13 record after their 59-51 league loss to Lone Star (Frisco, TX).
