Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS), 37-26 in a league match.

With the victory, Newton upgrades its record to 17-5 on the year.

The Rebels now sport a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bay Springs for a 2A Region 5 match on Monday, January 27. Scott Central will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 39-37 league loss to Lake (Lake, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 17-5.
