In Friday's league contest, the host Osceola Chieftains basketball team scored a close 49-44 triumph over the Prescott Cardinals.

The Chieftains (8-6) will now prepare for their contest against Hayward (Hayward, WI). The Hurricanes go into the non-league contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, Hayward nipped Barron (Barron, WI), 59-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cardinals battle the Somerset Spartans (Somerset, WI) in a Middle Border contest, on Monday, January 27. Prescott will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 7-8 record after their 46-39 league win over Amery (Amery, WI).
