The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Xavier Prep Saints (Palm Desert, CA) and the visiting Rancho Mirage Rattlers (Rancho Mirage, CA), observed Xavier Prep's basketball team overwhelm Rancho Mirage by a score of 53-12.

The Saints (8-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Shadow Hills (Indio, CA). The Knights come into the Desert Empire challenge with a 19-4 record. In their last challenge, Shadow Hills trounced Glendora (Glendora, CA), 49-29, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Rattlers battle the Palm Desert Aztecs (Palm Desert, CA) in a Desert Empire challenge, on Monday, January 27. Rancho Mirage will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Aztecs come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 55-28 league win over La Quinta (La Quinta, CA).
