In Friday's league contest, the visiting Zavalla Eagles basketball team scored a big 66-33 triumph over the Wells Pirates.

The Eagles (17-11) will now prepare for their contest against Centerville (Groveton, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 1A Region IV District 27 contest with a 5-14 record. In their last contest, Centerville was trounced by Broaddus (Broaddus, TX), 101-8, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Pirates confront the Apple Springs Eagles (Apple Springs, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Wells will attempt to better on its 11-17 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 1-22 record after their 45-28 league loss to Kennard (Kennard, TX).
