Fans at Friday's league battle between the El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) and the visiting Cypress Centurions (Cypress, CA), saw El Modena's soccer squad hold off Cypress by a score of 1-0.

The Vanguards (13-5) will now prepare for their battle against Sonora (La Habra, CA). The Raiders enter the North Hills battle with a 10-5 record. In their last battle, Sonora was edged by Pacifica (Garden Grove, CA), 3-2, in a league battle.

Next up, the Centurions confront the Sonora Raiders (La Habra, CA) in a North Hills battle, on Friday, January 31. Cypress will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record.
