Maywood Academy Nighthawks (Maywood, CA) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA), 2-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, Maywood Academy moves its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Elizabeth (Cudahy, CA) to meet the Bulldogs in a Southern test on Monday, January 27. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 3-8. Elizabeth lost 7-1 in their recent league test against Maywood CES (Maywood, CA)

The Gladiators now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Mendez for a non-league test on Saturday, January 25. Marquez will meet a Jaguars team coming off a 3-3 league Bernstein (Hollywood, CA). The Jaguars record now stands at 8-2.
