Whitesboro Bearcats (Whitesboro, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Callisburg Wildcats (Gainesville, TX), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Whitesboro upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Paradise (Paradise, TX) to play the Panthers in a 3A Region II District 10 bout on Friday, January 28. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 17-11. Paradise won 49-29 in their recent league bout against Valley View (Valley View, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Ponder Lions (Ponder, TX) in a 3A Region II District 10 bout, on Friday, January 28. Callisburg will attempt to upgrade on its 10-11 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 23-3 record after their 70-54 league win over Pilot Point (Pilot Point, TX).
