Copper Basin Cougars (Copperhill, TN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC), 38-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Copper Basin upgrades its record to 2-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Rhea County (Evensville, TN) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 27. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 3-7.

Next up, the Eagles play the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 27. Hiwassee Dam will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 63-59 league loss to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC).
