In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Simley Spartans (Inver Grove Heights, MN), by a count of 74-45.

The Zephyrs (10-6) will now prepare for their outing against North (North St. Paul, MN). The Polars go into the AAA Section 4 outing with a 10-7 record. In their last outing, North was crushed by South St. Paul (South St. Paul, MN), 53-45, in a non-league outing.

The Spartans now hold a 10-4 record. They play next when they travel to Hastings for a AAAA Section 3 outing on Friday, January 28. Simley will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 75-52 league loss to Hill-Murray (Maplewood, MN). The Raiders record now stands at 11-5.
