Venice Indians (Venice, FL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host North Port Bobcats (North Port, FL), 52-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Venice upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Indians host Gulf Coast (Naples, FL) to play the Sharks in a non-league bout on Friday, January 28. The Sharks go into the bout with a record of 13-3. Gulf Coast lost 48-47 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Myers (Fort Myers, FL)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Lemon Bay Manta Rays (Englewood, FL) in a bout, on Thursday, January 27. North Port will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Manta Rays go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 68-50 non-league win over Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota, FL).
