Polo Marcos (Polo, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Amboy Clippers (Amboy, IL), 38-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Polo upgrades its record to 10-14 on the campaign. The Marcos host Ashton-Franklin Center (Ashton, IL) to play the Raiders in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South bout on Friday, January 27. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 11-11. Ashton-Franklin Center lost 71-56 in their recent league bout against Forreston (Forreston, IL)

Next up, the Clippers play the Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Amboy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-20 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 12-10 record after their 34-32 non-league loss to Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL).
