The Blacksburg Bruins basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Auburn Eagles to 54 in the Bruins non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Bruins now sport a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Salem for a River Ridge contest on Friday, January 27. Blacksburg will battle a Spartans team coming off a 68-40 league win over Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 9-9.
The Eagles (14-4) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 6-11 record. In their last contest, Fort Chiswell ran past Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 62-53, in a league contest.
