Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), 104-94 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pearl River Central upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to West Harrison (Gulfport, MS) to confront the Hurricanes in a 5A Region 7 battle on Saturday, January 28. The Hurricanes come into the battle with a record of 3-9.

The Gators (1-9) will now prepare for their battle against George County (Lucedale, MS). The Rebels come into the 5A Region 8 battle with a 7-7 record. In their last battle, George County beat East Central (Moss Point, MS), 69-42, in a league battle.
