The Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) basketball felled the visiting Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR), 65-50 in Wednesday's league test.
The Greyhounds (11-8) will now prepare for their test against Mountain View (Mountain View, AR). The Yellowjackets go into the 3A Region 2 test with a 14-7 record. In their last test, Mountain View thwarted Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR), 57-46, in a league test.
The Greyhounds now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Tuckerman for a 3A Region 2 test on Friday, January 27. Salem will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-43 league win over Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-13.
