The Chavez Eagles (San Fernando, CA) basketball nipped the visiting Monroe Vikings (North Hills, CA), 1-0 in Wednesday's league test.
The Eagles (5-16) will now prepare for their test against Verdugo Hills (Tujunga, CA). The Dons go into the East Valley test with a 15-9 record. In their last test, Verdugo Hills was tipped by Poly (Sun Valley, CA), 54-47, in a league test.
The Vikings now own a 0-11 record. They play next when they host Poly for a East Valley test on Wednesday, February 1. Monroe will encounter a Parrots squad coming off a 63-20 league win over Grant (Van Nuys, CA). The Parrots record now stands at 18-5.
