Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM), 40-20 in a league bout.

With the win, Navajo Prep upgrades its record to 15-3 on the season. The Eagles host Newcomb (Newcomb, NM) to play the Skyhawks in a 3A District 1 bout on Friday, January 27. The Skyhawks go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Newcomb won 44-42 in their recent league bout against Zuni (Zuni, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 27. Crownpoint will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 42-39 league loss to Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
