The Floydada Whirlwinds (Floydada, TX) basketball felled the host New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX), 54-37 in Wednesday's league test.
The Whirlwinds (14-11) will now prepare for their test against Lockney (Lockney, TX). The Longhorns go into the 2A Region I District 4 test with a 19-9 record. In their last test, Lockney thwarted Smyer (Smyer, TX), 56-28, in a league test.
The Lions now own a 13-14 record. They play next when they travel to Ralls for a 2A Region I District 4 test on Friday, January 27. New Deal will encounter a Jackrabbits squad coming off a 84-18 league loss to Sudan (Sudan, TX). The Jackrabbits record now stands at 6-17.
