The Surry County Cougars basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Franklin Broncos to 49 in the Cougars league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cougars now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Windsor for a non-league contest on Friday, January 27. Surry County will meet a Dukes team coming off a 50-6 league win over Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 12-3.

The Broncos (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA). The Dragons enter the Tri-Rivers contest with a 1-13 record. In their last contest, Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech was nudged by Windsor (Windsor, VA), 50-6, in a league contest.
