New Mexico High School Basketball - La Cueva nudges Sandia

January 25, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87110

In Wednesday's league outing, the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) basketball squad nipped the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), by a margin of 64-57.

The Bears (14-5) will now prepare for their bout against Farmington (Farmington, NM). The Scorpions go into the 5A District 2 bout with a 18-1 record. In their last bout, Farmington held off Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 62-54, in a league bout.

Next up, the Matadors play the Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM) in a 5A District 2 bout, on Saturday, January 28. Sandia will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 6-13 record after their 64-42 league loss to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM).
