The Sumner Spartans basketball team scored 78 points and restricted the visiting Puyallup Vikings to 59 in the Spartans league victory on Wednesday.
The Spartans now sport a 15-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Graham-Kapowsin for a non-league contest on Friday, January 27. Sumner will battle a Eagles team coming off a 63-41 league loss to Bethel (Spanaway, WA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-13.
The Vikings (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma, WA). The Lions come into the 4A South Puget Sound - North contest with a 13-5 record. In their last contest, Bellarmine Prep prevailed over South Kitsap (Port Orchard, WA), 58-42, in a league contest.
