Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Lafayette Rams (Williamsburg, VA), 58-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Smithfield upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Packers travel to Grafton (Yorktown, VA) to play the Clippers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Clippers come into the bout with a record of 16-2. Grafton won 69-63 in their recent non-league bout against New Kent (New Kent, VA)

Next up, the Rams play the York Falcons (Yorktown, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record.
