The Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls basketball team (Anderson, TX), was overwhelmed 71-36 in Thursday's league battle with the host Crockett Bulldogs (Crockett, TX)

The Bulldogs now possess a 23-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coldspring-Oakhurst for a 3A Region III District 23 battle on Friday, January 26. Crockett will confront a Trojans team coming off a 76-73 league win over Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 21-6.

The Fighting Owls (8-15) will now prepare for their battle against New Waverly (New Waverly, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region III District 23 battle with a 10-17 record. In their last battle, New Waverly was overwhelmed by Trinity (Trinity, TX), 53-49, in a league battle.
