Heritage Academy Patriots (Columbus, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bayou Academy Colts (Cleveland, MS), 61-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Heritage Academy upgrades its record to 15-4 on the season. The Patriots host Starkville Academy (Starkville, MS) to clash with the Volunteers in a MAIS 5A District 1 bout on Monday, January 29. The Volunteers go into the bout with a record of 9-14. Starkville Academy lost 68-50 in their recent league bout against Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN)

Next up, the Colts clash with the Pillow Academy Mustangs (Greenwood, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 1 bout, on Monday, January 29. Bayou Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 48-42 league win over Starkville Academy (Starkville, MS).
