Coahoma County Red Panthers (Clarksdale, MS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS), 46-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Coahoma County upgrades its record to 18-5 on the campaign. The Red Panthers host Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS) to play the Lions in a 3A Region 2 bout on Friday, January 26. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 5-10.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Coahoma County Red Panthers (Clarksdale, MS) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record.
