Cuba City Cubans (Cuba City, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Riverdale Chieftains (Muscoda, WI), 62-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cuba City upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Cubans host Fennimore (Fennimore, WI) to play the Golden Eagles in a Southwest Wisconsin Activities bout on Friday, February 2. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 3-15. Fennimore lost 79-48 in their recent league bout against Darlington (Darlington, WI)

Next up, the Chieftains play the La Farge Wildcats (La Farge, WI) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Riverdale will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 56-49 league win over Kickapoo (Viola, WI).
