Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers (Mountain Iron, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Deer River Warriors (Deer River, MN), 64-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mountain Iron-Buhl upgrades its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Red Lake (Red Lake, MN) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 13-3. Red Lake won 99-56 in their recent league bout against Kelliher/Northome (Northome, MN)

Next up, the Warriors play the Northland Eagles (Remer, MN) in a A Section 7 bout, on Friday, January 26. Deer River will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 94-65 non-league loss to Cromwell (Cromwell, MN).
