Deshler Tigers (Tuscumbia, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rogers Pirates (Florence, AL), 53-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Deshler upgrades its record to 16-10 on the season. The Tigers travel to Brooks (Killen, AL) to play the Lions in a 4A Area 16 bout on Friday, January 26. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Brooks won 54-35 in their recent league bout against Central (Florence, AL)

Next up, the Pirates play the Wilson Warriors (Florence, AL) in a 4A Area 16 bout, on Friday, January 26. Rogers will attempt to upgrade on its 12-14 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 8-17 record after their 64-54 non-league win over Collinwood (Collinwood, TN).
