First Baptist Academy Eagles (Universal City, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Gateway Christian Eagles (San Antonio, TX), 38-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, First Baptist Academy upgrades its record to 11-8 on the season. The Eagles travel to Faith Academy (Victoria, TX) to clash with the Cougars in a TAPPS 1A District 5 bout on Friday, January 26. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Faith Academy won 60-44 in their recent league bout against River City Believers Academy (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the First Baptist Academy Eagles (Universal City, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Gateway Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
