The Hueytown Golden Gophers basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting McAdory Yellowjackets to 56 in the Golden Gophers league triumph on Thursday.
The Golden Gophers now sport a 15-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Leeds for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Hueytown will battle a Greenwave team coming off a 54-40 league win over Moody (Moody, AL). The Greenwave record now stands at 11-11.
The Yellowjackets (16-9) will now prepare for their contest against Ramsay (Birmingham, AL). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 15-8 record. In their last contest, Ramsay ran past Sparkman (Harvest, AL), 72-52, in a non-league contest.
