Monterey Dores (Monterey, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Salinas Cowboys (Salinas, CA), 71-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Monterey upgrades its record to 15-4 on the season. The Dores host Hollister (Hollister, CA) to play the Haybalers in a PCAL - Gabilan bout on Monday, January 29. The Haybalers go into the bout with a record of 9-10. Hollister lost 64-62 in their recent league bout against Everett Alvarez (Salinas, CA)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Summit Shasta Black Bears (Daly City, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Salinas will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Black Bears go into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 69-31 league win over Pacific Bay Christian (Pacifica, CA).
