The Mountainair Mustangs basketball team (Mountainair, NM), was nudged 29-27 in Thursday's league battle with the host Alamo Navajo Cougars (Magdalena, NM)

The Cougars now sport a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 1.

The Mustangs (6-12) will now prepare for their battle against Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM). The Cardinals come into the A District 3 battle with a 10-3 record. In their last battle, Corona/Vaughn edged Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM), 48-10, in a league battle.
