The Buckingham Knights tipped the visiting Appomattox County Raiders basketball team by a final score of 44-41 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Knights face the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) in a James River game, on Tuesday, January 30. Buckingham will attempt to move on its 10-3 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 9-5 record after their 51-20 league win over Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA).

With the defeat, Appomattox County moves to 7-4 on the year. The Raiders host Altavista (Altavista, VA) to face the Colonels in a Dogwood game on Friday, January 26. The Colonels enter the game with a record of 4-11. Altavista lost 54-23 in their recent league game against William Campbell (Naruna, VA)
