The Armstrong River Hawks basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting New Castle Hurricanes to 35 in the River Hawks league victory on Thursday.

The River Hawks now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mars for a WPIAL 5A 2 contest on Monday, January 29. Armstrong will battle a Fightin' Planets team coming off a 50-35 league win over Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA). The Fightin' Planets record now stands at 9-8.

The Hurricanes (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Shaler Area (Pittsburgh, PA). The Titans come into the WPIAL 5A 2 contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Shaler Area was routed by North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA), 42-36, in a league contest.
