West Virginia High School Basketball - Braxton County thwarts Webster County

The Braxton County Eagles (Sutton, WV) basketball knocked off the host Webster County Highlanders (Upper Glade, WV), 45-36 in Thursday's league test.

The Eagles (9-8) will now prepare for their test against Roane County (Spencer, WV). The Raiders go into the Little Kanawha - East test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, Roane County notched a victory over Clay County (Clay, WV), 52-42, in a league test.

The Highlanders now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they travel to Nicholas County for a non-league test on Monday, January 29. Webster County will encounter a Grizzlies squad coming off a 52-35 league loss to PikeView (Princeton, WV). The Grizzlies record now stands at 7-7.
