The Sterling Golden Warriors basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Geneseo Maple Leafs to 47 in the Golden Warriors league triumph on Thursday.
The Golden Warriors now sport a 12-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Quincy for a Western Big 6 contest on Saturday, January 27. Sterling will meet a Blue Devils team coming off a 62-43 league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 19-5.
The Maple Leafs (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Rock Island (Rock Island, IL). The Rocks enter the Western Big 6 contest with a 7-16 record. In their last contest, Rock Island was nudged by Alleman (Rock Island, IL), 45-31, in a league contest.
