Johnston City Indians (Johnston City, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils (Sesser, IL), 42-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Johnston City upgrades its record to 14-11 on the season. The Indians travel to Wayne City (Wayne City, IL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 4-16. Wayne City lost 61-41 in their recent non-league bout against Christopher (Christopher, IL)

Next up, the Red Devils play the Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) in a Black Diamond - West bout, on Monday, January 29. Sesser-Valier/Waltonville will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Blackcats go into the bout with a 24-3 record after their 57-27 league win over Trico (Campbell Hill, IL).
