Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), 44-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Verrado upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Vipers travel to Desert Edge (Goodyear, AZ) to clash with the Scorpions in a 5A Desert West bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Scorpions go into the bout with a record of 14-10. Desert Edge won 50-17 in their recent league bout against Lake Havasu (Lake Havasu City, AZ)

Next up, the Fighting Lobos clash with the Canyon View Jaguars (Waddell, AZ) in a 5A Desert West bout, on Monday, January 29. La Joya Community will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 16-4 record after their 67-64 league loss to Millennium (Goodyear, AZ).
