Mohawk Area Warriors (Bessemer, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA), 44-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Mohawk Area upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Warriors travel to Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA) to clash with the Tigers in a WPIAL 3A 1 bout on Monday, January 29. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 6-3.

Next up, the Spartan clash with the Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Laurel will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 67-60 league loss to Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA).
