The Newport Grizzlies basketball team (Newport, WA), was overwhelmed 60-28 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Priest River Spartans (Priest River, ID)
The Spartans now possess a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kellogg for a 2A Central Idaho battle on Friday, January 26. Priest River will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 66-36 non-league loss to Lakeland (Rathdrum, ID). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-8.
The Grizzlies (0-15) will now prepare for their battle against Freeman (Rockford, WA). The Scotties come into the 1A Northeast battle with a 8-9 record. In their last battle, Freeman was overwhelmed by Deer Park (Deer Park, WA), 56-39, in a league battle.
