North Sand Mountain Bison (Higdon, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting North Jackson Chiefs (Stevenson, AL), 66-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North Sand Mountain upgrades its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Bison host Pisgah (Pisgah, AL) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 9-8. Pisgah lost 59-50 in their recent non-league bout against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (Decatur, AL)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Kate Duncan Smith DAR Patriots (Grant, AL) in a 4A Area 14 battle, on Friday, January 26. North Jackson will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Patriots come into the battle with a 10-13 record after their 54-28 league loss to New Hope (New Hope, AL).
