Wessington Springs Spartans (Wessington Springs, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Rebels (Forestburg, SD), 51-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wessington Springs upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Spartans host Miller (Miller, SD) to play the Rustlers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Rustlers go into the bout with a record of 8-3. Miller lost 53-50 in their recent non-league bout against James Valley Christian (Huron, SD)

Next up, the Rebels play the Ethan Rustlers (Ethan, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Rustlers go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 65-29 league win over Howard (Howard, SD).
