The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Highland Cougars (Ewing, MO) and the visiting Hannibal Pirates (Hannibal, MO), observed Highland's basketball team overcome Hannibal by a margin of 55-38.

The Cougars (2-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Monroe City (Monroe City, MO). The Panthers come into the Clarence Cannon challenge with a 13-2 record. In their last challenge, Monroe City defeated Palmyra (Palmyra, MO), 62-50, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Kirksville Tigers (Kirksville, MO) in a North Central Missouri challenge, on Friday, January 31. Hannibal will attempt to better on its 2-11 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 11-6 record after their 47-44 league win over Moberly (Moberly, MO).
